Experience
A partner at Roebothan McKay Marshall, John Drover is a dedicated advocate for injured clients across Newfoundland and Labrador. Called to the Bar in 2009, John has built a thriving personal injury and civil litigation practice, guiding clients through some of the most difficult moments of their lives with skill, tenacity, and genuine care.
John’s path to law began in the humanities: he earned a Gold Medal for Academic Excellence in Folklore in his undergraduate studies and the F.A. Aldrich Graduate Award for his graduate work in the field. That grounding in storytelling and community continues to shape how John connects with clients and courts alike.
He later completed a Master of Laws in Intellectual Property while practising full-time, and today advises artists, creators, and organizations on IP matters. He remains active in our province’s arts and heritage communities, having served as President of the NL Folk Arts Society and now as Chair of Artistic Fraud of Newfoundland and an executive member of the O’Brien Farm Foundation.
